Television production is in our blood
We bring together huge experience of every aspect of television. From presenting, directing and editing national live news programmes to compiling documentaries filmed around the world.
We are based in Nottingham and can call upon the services of some of the country’s most experienced television professionals.
Robin Hood Media is currently producing a weekly politics programme for the BBC, the Sunday Politics East Midlands and a weekly business programme for Notts TV.
We work closely with the BBC, using their studios and presenters and our team of editors cameramen and reporters to produce a lively topical look at the week’s political news.
The programme is a regional opt into the national programme presented by Andrew Neil. Our job is to match the pace, production values and journalism of the main programme.
To win the contract we had to pass stringent tests in editorial decision-making, production knowledge and make sure our health and safety practices match the BBC’s high standards.
We have widened the range of reporters, attracted more MPs onto the show and improved the production values in areas like filming, editing and graphics.
Given our pedigree, that’s not surprising. The core of the team worked together on Working Lunch, BBC2’s award-winning business programme which launched the career of Adrian Chiles.
Our team includes people who have worked regularly for Newsnight, BBC Breakfast News and CNN’s business programmes.
Working for Notts TV has brought new challenges. Local tv has been set up with tight budgets, but we wanted to maintain the network broadcast quality that we are used to producing. We’ve worked hard at combining new technology with seasoned professionals who can work quickly and smartly to produce a lively programme on an unbelievably low budget (well, we think it’s unbelievable!).
